An organic product supplies a double guarantee:

the guarantee of controls and laws applied when these products are put on the market

In order to be called organic, a product must have, from its production to its commercialisation, followed and respected the specific regulations of Organic Farming. Production, processing, packaging, transport, marketing, etc. Each stage follows a well-defined method of working using mandatory processes.
These obligations are defined by EUROPEAN REGULATIONS . For vegetable and animal products (regulation EEC 2091/92 modified by the council 24 June 1991) completed by specifications officially confirmed by the inter-ministerial decisions of 28 August 2000.In this way, each producer pledges to respect the specific regulations of organic farming and agrees to be controlled by an independent third party approved by the state and conforming to the standard EN45011

PERLAMANDE has chosen ECOCERT as its certification organisation.

A private body financed by farmers and businesses, ECOCERT is independent of all commercial or union structure. The certification committees, composed of professionals and consumers (other than their staff and associates), supervise the application of the regulations and the conformity to the specifications with complete impartiality.

ECOCERT, as a certification body, pledges:

  • to check the meeting of the specifications by arranged annual visits plus unannounced visits at any time, to control the installations, land, buildings, fabrication methods, ingredients, accounts, packaging, transport ...
  • to deliver, if these standards are met, a licence conferred annually to the operator. This attests to his engagement, in the opinion of the control organisation,
  • to deliver, after control, a certificate which establishes for each product its conformity with the references used in organic production. The period of validity of this certificate varies from 12 to 18 months.
