Organic monitoring

We don’t need to look far to find new ideas for ORGANIC products, as Perl’Amande is located in the heart of the Alpes de Haute Provence , where health and food hygiene have been anchored in the lifestyle of the inhabitants for many years. It is therefore not by chance that Perl’Amande was one of the first companies in France to manufacture products exclusively from Organic produce back in the eighties. We have maintained our involvement with the Organic sector and our desire to respond to the needs of our customers has only grown as the food people eat has become worse. Perl’Amande strives to find ideas for recipes which allow everyone to eat healthy products within their diet to recover balance and health.  Our sales reps are in continuous contact with the management of ORGANIC shops who often have naturopathic training and can provide accurate information to help us improve and develop our products. We also attend a number of ORGANIC trade fairs each year (Artémisia, Marjolaine, vivre autrement, naturally…) where we can exchange ideas with our consumers and create ideas for new products and improved recipes.

Our R&D engineers monitor all documents, attend trade-fairs, seminars and conferences in order to track innovations and food products and to become aware of all recent discoveries which can be used to improve the benefits of our products.

Passion, tradition, innovation

Proposing new products which promote health, wellness and vitality while perpetuating tradition and traditional expertise,  is now the priority of our research and development (R & D) department. Pauline, our R&D supervisor, perfects new recipes proposed to our internal tasting panel in the laboratory. This is made up of a committee of experts selected from our employees which judge and evaluate products based on their shape, their texture and their taste and flavour, obviously.
Opinions very often differ and Pauline usually has to make several attempts to satisfy the majority of the panel. New recipes and improvements to existing ones are experimented with in a laboratory equipped with a prototype production facility, an aging cabinet to track the evolution of products over time, and control instruments to measure the microbiological and organoleptic qualities of the products.

In 2012, Perl’Amande was awarded the label “Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant” (Living Heritage Enterprise) by the Ministry for Trade, for companies holding rare, well-known or traditional expertise, relying on the mastery of traditional techniques used in a particular region.

A complement to the “Made in France” label
Living Heritage Enterprises conduct production activities in France in high added-value sectors. They are mostly present in international markets and also export iconic French know-how. They are representatives of the “Made in France” spirit and know-how and forge the economic identity of the French culture. By promoting the expertise of labelled companies, customers and opinion-makers are supporting the maintenance and development of prestigious French businesses and preserving full-time local employment.
