PRODUCERS
Cashew nuts come from Mali & Togo.
We have a strategy for securing raw materials considered to be at risk, such as cashew nuts.
Indeed, the extraction of the cashew nut from its shell is hazardous, this is why we are currently setting up a collaboration with a producer who ensures good working conditions for his employees, particularly during this process.
85% of our cashew pickers are women. They work with protective uniforms: masks, caps, visors and disposable gloves.
In Togo, we work with ORGANIC CRADLE COMPANY SAS (O2C), through our intermediary Biofruisec. ORGANIC CRADLE COMPANY SAS employs 120 people who work with 729 producers. These growers are divided into three cooperatives and individual growers. At their Annual General Meeting, the two Plateaux Region cooperatives put forward two development projects:
- improving medical services by building dispensaries equipped with first-aid medical assistance close to producers.
- Development of rural tracks in production areas. The O2C company is planning to set up a processing unit.
